1981
Ellen Sheehan is the featured artist at the new gallery at the Museum of the Coastal Carolinas for the spring and summer of 2024. Balancing full-time teacher and parenting responsibilities for more than 20 years, Ellen rediscovered her passion for photography after becoming an empty nester. She enhanced her skills with formal classes, small group workshops, and independent study. Merging her teaching and photography skills, she also created the Photographer’s Learning Studio in the Houston, Texas, area, offering photography classes, workshops, trips, and individual instruction. Her photography experience includes NCAA Division I sports teams, Sugar Land Space Cowboys and Myrtle Beach Pelicans minor league baseball teams, the Ocean Isle Sea Turtle Protection Organization, charity events, theater productions, concerts, magazine covers, and advertisements.

Parley Acker moved back to the Hudson Valley after 20 years living in other regions, including the Middle East.
Elain Doremus donated her career and resume services to the public in one-on-one sessions at the Honest Weight Food Coop in Albany, New York. Clients ranged from college students to professionals with many years of experience. Services provided ranged from assessments to match personality to career, teaching how to look for a job in the most productive manner and resume development.

Corinne Schell and her husband Tim ’95 have two grandchildren: Brayden Stockton and Graham Schell.

Katie (Byrne) Lloyd and Tara (Dixon) Brennan proudly wear their Marist gear during “College Gear Day” at Bretton Woods Elementary School in Hauppauge, Long Island, New York, where they are coworkers. They love being able to brag about being Marist graduates. Katie will be returning to campus this fall to celebrate her 40th reunion.

Scott Quimby was recognized as a Certified Information Systems Specialist (CISSP), a premier security specialization.
1986
Warren Montgomery was recognized at the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) Advanced Lithography & Patterning conference in 2023 as a 2023 SPIE Honorable Fellow Member. This prestigious distinction acknowledges his significant contributions to optics, photonics, and imaging. Warren has more than 40 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and is known for his technical achievements such as the development of the SEMATECH Resist and Materials Development center and authorship of 35 patents and over 100 conference papers. He has received numerous awards and honors, including IBM awards for material introduction, the SEMATECH Award for Resist Center Introduction, and the Best Paper award from Applied Materials. Additionally, Warren is known for his dedication to giving back to the optical community through his volunteer work and service to organizations such as SPIE, where he has held several committee and editorial positions and supported local schools and science fairs.
Karen Szklany built a stone labyrinth in Lancaster, Massachusetts, in 2021. She leads fellowships on the labyrinth path for her UU church’s RE program. Karen is an alto in her local acapella group, River’s Edge Harmonix.

Derrik Wynkoop ’92MBA was honored at the 29th Annual Ottaway Medal Dinner Vision Hudson Valley, on May 2, 2024.
1988
Kathleen (Szarek) Dawson is a breast cancer survivor and is enjoying “early retirement.” In December 2022, she went to the Galapagos Islands with a group and experienced the trip of a lifetime. She has been to eight Caribbean Islands, taken cruises, and plans to travel even more.

Kristen (Pierson) Illes ’90M launched a leadership consulting practice in 2021 and loves working with clients on strategic planning, leadership development, program design and executive coaching!
