1964

Fr. Edward P. Doran was given the title of monsignor in December of 2019, conferred by Pope Francis. Msgr. Doran has a Ph.D. in counseling from St. John's University where he is an adjunct assistant professor in the Counseling Department. Msgr. Doran also is co-director of the Transition House, a facility for men coming from addiction treatment centers seeking job reentry. On Dec. 17, 2020, Father Doran celebrated his 80th birthday.

1966

John Hart published his final book in the trilogy "Cosmos Contact: Close Encounters of the Otherkind” in February 2020, Third Displacement: Cosmobiology, Cosmolocality, Cosmosocioecology. The foreword is by astrophysicist and computer scientist (AI focus) Jacques F. Vallee; the afterword is by Georgetown University Emeritus Professor (science-religion-ecology focus) John F. Haught. His books have been endorsed by, among others, a Nobel Peace laureate/Holocaust survivor, a National Medal of Science and Pulitzer Prize recipient, a Lakota Indian activist, and numerous other scholars and community leaders. Over the years, John has enjoyed the friendship of traditional Indian elders - spiritual leaders, healers, and social activists.

Charles DiSogra joined the Facebook organization as director of research for public connections and monetization. He formerly managed global customer experience research at Google.

Paul Rinn was the keynote speaker at the Freedom of the Seas Symposium in Los Angeles. He led discussions on sound preparation and avoiding maritime crisis. Then he was the host at the Gala the next night, presenting humanitarian awards and awards for bravery by US Coast Guard and Navy officers and enlisted. Both events were well attended by about 500 people. He was honored to be invited and loved answering the question, “Are you Naval Academy?” with “No, I’m Marist ’68.”

Peter Clarry was a teacher for 32 years. He was nominated and elected one of the William Floyd School District’s Outstanding Educators by his former students.

Paul Geary and his wife celebrated their 50th anniversary during the year of COVID. He continues to play bagpipes with the Ulster County Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Pipes and Drums and is trying to teach himself a retirement hobby of whittling. So far he still has all of his digits and suffered only one stab wound to his palm.

Steve Johnson is a volunteer lecturer in the Lifetime Learners Institute at Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, CT.

John Moccio is a volunteer hospice companion in retirement.

Bill Nevins and his wife, Mary, work for Baldwin County, GA, as poll workers, and as poll monitors. He was also appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court to serve as arbitrator for the Georgia State Bar.

Sean O’Neill was appointed to the Town of East Greenbush, NY, Board of Ethics on Nov. 10, 2020. The board reports to the Town Board on matters of ethics policy. It both provides advisory opinions and investigates complaints of ethical breaches by town employees. Sean has resided in East Greenbush since 1991.
